Solaglas Windowcare shotlisted in four award categories

Leading glass and frame repair and replacement company Solaglas Windowcare is pleased to announce that it has been shortlisted in four categories of the 2008 Rotherham Business Awards.

Part of global giant, the Saint-Gobain Group, Solaglas Windowcare employs 400 people nationwide and manufactures from its main office at Hellaby, South Yorkshire.

The capabilities and innovations presented by the company in award submissions have been highlighted by the judges in the following categories.



  1. Customer Service Award (sponsored by Corus) for a commitment to providing its clients and their customers with an unrivalled level of service.

  2. Invest in Skills Award (sponsored by The Junction) for an innovative training programme to develop engineers to become managers.

  3. Excellence in Business Award (sponsored by First) for encouraging an environment of cooperation and engagement among its employees.

  4. Innovation in Business Award (sponsored by Sheffield Hallam University) for adopting technology that enhances the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of its operation and business administration.


Judges, drawn from the award category sponsors, will visit Solaglas Windowcare over the coming weeks to analyse the submissions and find out more about the company and its activities.

Commenting on the success, Managing Director Ian Davy said: “Being shortlisted in four of the ten award categories is great news for the company and highlights the quality of our people, effectiveness of our systems and processes and our drive to improve every part of the business as we grow.”

The Rotherham Business Awards is organised by the Rotherham and Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce. The winners will be announced at a black-tie event to be held on the evening of October 24 at MAGNA, a science centre near Rotherham.
