Solaglas windowcare campaign targets retailers

Date: 12 November 2008

National emergency glazing company Solaglas Windowcare, part of the Saint-Gobain Group, has today launched a campaign targeting retailers that are unlikely to have access to 24-hour emergency glazing services.

The launch follows reports that another major supplier in this sector is experiencing severe difficulties.

The company, recognising that in the run up to Christmas retailers have an urgent need to have their windows re-glazed and ready for display, has therefore launched its campaign under the heading ‘Let us come to your rescue’.

A dedicated emergency helpline has been set up and manned by a specialist team to respond to demand from retailers and FM companies.

The campaign will be backed by business-to-business advertising and promotional activity.

Solaglas Windowcare estimates that there could now be as many as 400 retail outlets with damaged boarded-up shop fronts on high streets across Britain without an acknowledged national supplier to provide professional re-glazing services.

Managing director, Ian Davy said difficulties at a major competitor leave Solaglas Windowcare as the only company with national coverage that can provide the quality of service delivery large retailers demand.

He added:”We are ideally positioned to meet increased demand and have the resources on board to ensure retail groups have access to 24-hour emergency glazing services.

“We have trained people on the ground ready to respond to increased demand following damage to plate glass, doors and shutters, allowing shops to trade as normal.”
