Şişecam Science and Technology Center Receives Intellectual Property Competence Award

Prof. Şener Oktik, Şişecam Group Research and Technology Development President, received the award from Dr. Faruk Özlü, Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology. Şişecam Science and Technology Center was chosen from among the 889 R&D and design centers supported by the ministry. 

22 December 2017 – The R&D efforts of Şişecam Group, one of the longest-established institutions of Turkey, have been awarded at the 6th Private Sector R&D and Design Centers Summit organized by the Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology at Ankara’s Congresium on 20-21 December 2017.

Şişecam Group’s 40-million-dollar Science and Technology Center in Çayırova, Gebze, received the Intellectual Property Competence Award of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology.

Prof. Şener Oktik, Şişecam Group Research and Technology Development President, received the award from Dr. Faruk Özlü, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology. Şişecam Science and Technology Center was chosen from among the 889 R&D and design centers supported by the ministry.

Stating that Şişecam Group was shaping the products and production technologies of the future in glass science and technology, Prof. Şener Oktik said:

It’s an award-winning, environment-friendly facility offering a 9,400 m2 indoor space. The center employs 225 highly skilled experts who conduct research and develop technologies at a local and international level. Şişecam Group targets to drive its growth through research and technological development, and will continue to heavily invest in this field”.
