Russia`s industrial production up 8.7% in February and 8.1% since early this year

Russia's industrial production climbed 8.7% on year in Feb. and gained 8.1% from eraly this year, according to the Federal Statistics Service.

Industrial production index stood at 101.2% in Feb. vs. Jan. of 2004.

Glass and whiteware industry led in production growth in Jan., Feb. (25.7%), engineering and metal processing industry climbed 19.8%, construction materials - 11.9%, medical industry - 11.4%, chemical, petrochemical - 10.7%, fuel industry - 9.3%, ferrous metal industry - 8.8%, timber, timber processing, pulp and paper industry - 8.7%, food industry - 6.9%.
