Intended older commercial buildings with single-glazed windows or curtain wall systems, the Renovate system preserves a building’s exterior while offering more than 25 percent in annual energy savings, reduced outside noise, and increased security. The Renovate system also can help building owners earn tax credits, utility rebates, and a minimum of four points towards LEED certification.
The Renovate system works by adding two lites of low-e glass to a commercial building’s inefficient, single-pane windows, creating energy-efficient triple-glazed insulating glass units (IGUs) in their place. Available in three configurations, the Renovate system can offer solar heat gain coefficients as low as 0.27, winter U-values as low as 0.15, and R-values up to 6.67.
Because the Renovate system is applied to the interior surface of an existing window, the building remains completely enclosed during the retrofit, eliminating the time and cost of temporarily relocating a building’s occupants. In addition, the Renovate system can be installed two to three times faster, and at about half the cost of a traditional window replacement project.
