Date: 8 February 2011
The Gulf Glass series of exhibitions started in 2007, and ran annually for the first three editions in Sharjah, UAE as it got established. Since then, the dynamic of the glass industry across the region has changed, with a focus away from the commercially-driven centre of Dubai, and towards Abu Dhabi – the centre of new growth.
As such, the show in March will take place at what is the inspiring venue of ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, arguably the most state-of-the-art exhibition facility in the entire Middle East. For more details, check out www.adnec.ae.
"A bright future for glass.."
These are exciting times for the Middle East once more. After the economic downturn, the focus is once again on expansion. The construction industry in the Middle Eastern/Arabian Peninsula/North African region is enjoying much focus and growth, with ever increasing use of glass, employing new and innovative technologies and pushing architectural boundaries. Aggressive expansion and investment in container glass facilities in the region is a clear indication that the container industry in the Middle East and Maghreb region is one of the most globally strategic.
Glass consumption is rising across the flat, processed, and container glass sectors of the market as confidence floods back into the market, and Abu Dhabi finds itself at the very centre of all the activity.
Not only is the Emirates itself a hive of activity, but it serves as a focal point for a region that extends right across North Africa, East Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and on into Iran and Central Asia.
"Gulf Glass: totally glass, totally focussed"
Gulf Glass is not only the biggest glass show in the region, but is also the only truly pan-Middle Eastern show dedicated to the entire glass industry, and this year’s exhibitor list is extremely strong. Just some of the leading companies include:
