Almussafes facility in Valencia, Spain with a paint detackification process management program. Initial implementation of the program began in August. At the plant -- which manufactures the Ford Focus, Fiesta, Ka and the Mazda 2 models -- PPG Total Service Solutions is responsible for all directand indirect materials and chemicals related to the paint detackification process and cleaning and maintaining the facility's spray booth. "This program is just another example of our capability to provide customers around the world with cost-effective structured management programs," said Scott A.Follett, global director, PPG Total Service
Solutions. "The paint detackification program will help the Almussafes facility reduce its total costs by minimizing the cleaning and maintenance of
the spray booth, enabling the painting system to perform at an optimum level." In addition, the facility will have greater control over the emission of paint particles and it will experience a reduction in the amount of paint waste and material usage.
PPG Total Service Solutions also has a process management contract at Ford's Aston Martin facility in the United Kingdom and currently operates more
than 100 service programs for a wide variety of manufacturers in 19 countries.
