PPG Plans Cuts in Europe

Downtown-based PPG Industries Inc. plans to slash about 2,000 jobs, mainly in its European coatings operations.

The paints, chemicals and glass maker disclosed the job cuts in a filing Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
