NSG Group Vice-Chairman Tom Abe recently made his first visit to the Guilin Automotive Plant in China.  Meeting staff, he emphasized the importance of maximizing the potential of people and open communication.

He said he was particularly interested to hear of progress in improving the cascade processes to encourage two-way communication and team motivation. He talked in detail with the local management team about Safety, 5S, TPM, employee-relationship and float glass sourcing issues. Congratulating the team, he said he had been impressed by the good KPI and financial performance produced by a strong management team and highly motivated workforce.
 
Guilin General Manager, Chen Gang said after the visit “We’ve put a lot of effort into strengthening our Safety and 5S, performance. Our focus on safety, quality and productivity is now showing up in improving plant KPIs and profitability at Guilin”.
 
Tom Abe was accompanied on the visit by Yoshiro Matsuda, General Manager - NSG Audit Committee Office, Eddie Chai - Country Manager China & General Manager Automotive China, and Greg Andrews - Financial Director Asia.
