PELLA, Iowa, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Want to allow natural light into your home's exterior doorways, yet control privacy? Now you can do both with a single innovation, as Pella® introduces the first storm door with between-the-glass blinds.

Called the Venetian, this stylish full view storm door offers convenient cordless blinds that tilt and turn, raise and lower to control light and add privacy. It is available nationwide at Lowe's® stores across the United States.

"Customers tell us they welcome the natural light storm doors bring into the home, yet sometimes they want privacy, too," said Stan Sturtz, director of marketing communications for Pella.

"Pella first introduced between-the-glass blinds in 1966, and today we offer these tremendously popular options in many of our energy-efficient windows and doors. Expanding between-the-glass blinds options to Pella storm doors is a natural evolution," he said.

Encapsulated within two panes of energy-efficient insulating glass, the Venetian's blinds are protected from dust and damage. The cordless design is also safer for children and pets.

In addition to providing privacy and light control, the Venetian's between-the-glass blinds and insulating glass design add energy efficiency to the entry and reduce the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays that can fade interior floor coverings and furnishings.

The storm door comes standard with a multi-point lock, and can be paired with any of the Pella Select® series six hardware finishes.

The Venetian features the exclusive Pella Express Install® installation system, allowing installation in typically about half the time of a standard storm door installation.
