Owens-Illinois, Inc., announced that it will participate in the Banc of America Securities "Basic Industries: Unscripted" conference to be held May 5, 2004 in New York City.The Company's President and Chief Executive Officer Steven R.

McCracken will give a brief presentation at 2:15 p.m. Eastern time followed by a Q&A session with Treasurer Jeffrey A. Denker and Director of Investor Relations James F. Weber ending at 2:55 p.m. ET.
