Opening ceremony of the new production line L5 for container glass production, having capacity of 230 t/24h

Date: 17 February 2014

On Monday, February 10, in SERBIAN GLASS FACTORY (SGF), Paracin, in the presence of Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, President of the Republic of Serbia, and Mr.

Cvetan Vasilev, President of the Supervisory Board and majority shareholder of „Corporate Commercial Bank“, Sofia, as well as a great number of invitees, the new technological line L5 for production of glass containers in all colours was officially opened.

The nominal capacity of the L5 furnace of 230 tons per day, including the four production lines allows for the production of 180 million bottles and jars annually. The value of the new investment exceeds 20 million euros, whereby the amount of the total investments by the new Glass Factory shareholder – the international consortium of „Glas Industry“, including the full support of the „Corporate Commercial Bank“, Sofia, has exceeded 105 million euros over the past 20 months.

For construction of the furnace and relevant production lines, refractory materials, machines and equipment of the renowned suppliers worldwide (Sorg, RHI, MSK, Emhart) were used, whereas for the preparatory and construction process more than 30 local companies were involved – starting from raw material and technical material suppliers, all the way through to the contractors for construction and installation works.

Included in the equipment for the furnace line, FleXInspect – a servo-indexing automatic inspection system for up to 600 bottles per minute, which together with automatic packaging and thermoshrinking machine, completes the production process, and so the technological line L5 represents a state-of-the-art container glass production plant in the region.

With additional civil engineering and architectural works, extension of factory building facility was done, including transport bridge and elevator for transportation of finished goods to the enclosed finished goods warehouse (area of 6,000 sqm), thereby providing direct transport of finished goods from production lines to the warehouse through enclosed area and thus protecting finished goods from atmospheric conditions and weather influence.
