Vidrios Lirquén, the joint venture between NSG Group, Saint-Gobain Glass and Inversiones Pathfinder, today announced its intention to build a new Float line in Lima, Peru.

The project will allow Lirquén to consolidate its leadership on the south Pacific coast of South America.

The plant will have a daily output of 800 tonnes to supply Peru’s construction and automotive markets, and is due to come on stream during 2014. The new facility will enable Vidrios Lirquén to support the growth of both the Peruvian and Chilean markets, and will be the second float line owned and operated by Vidrios Lirquén. Vidrios Lirquén has been established in Peru since 2006, with a distribution centre in Lima.

This investment is in line with the Joint Venture’s strategic management plan for the South American region, which aims to offer to the market constantly improving products and services.
