A series of free events is being held throughout the North West to unlock the “talent” in the region’s glass sector.

But everyone who attends the manufacturers’ networking breakfasts will be a winner, as they will all receive vital information about improving productivity, reducing waste and adding more to their bottom line.

The Manufacturing Institute and Business Link Northwest have joined forces to give manufacturers an opportunity to access key business support at breakfast events to be held:

July 3rd 2008 - The Heath Conference Centre, Runcorn

September 11th 2008 - Rheged Centre, Penrith

October 23rd 2008 - Village Hotel Hyde, East Manchester

The Manufacturing Institute – which delivers BERR’s Manufacturing Advisory Service in the North West – will give delegates a chance to “judge for themselves” how lean manufacturing can revitalise their business processes.

A local business will give a presentation to share its experience of improving manufacturing operations and gaining profitable growth.

Business Link Northwest, which offers impartial, free-to-use business support and information, will outline the support it provides for manufacturing businesses across the region.

Lisa Kean, marketing support manager of The Manufacturing Institute, said: “Senior managers in manufacturing businesses throughout the North West have to be constantly on the look out for ways to improve performance, cut costs and increase productivity. Attending one of these events will provide new insight and inspiration, but best of all give them access to practical and tangible support.”

Brian Richardson, Advanced Engineering Sector Manager at Business Link Northwest added, “We’ve joined forces with The Manufacturing Institute to ensure North West manufacturing companies are aware that they don’t have to go it alone. There is a wealth of support available through Business Link and companies that attend will learn more about our free-to-use service and benefit from sound, impartial support, whatever their business needs.”

The free breakfast networking events are open to any manufacturing company in the North West. Places can be booked by calling 0800 458 9585 or emailing events@manufacturinginstitute.co.uk
