The National Glass Association (NGA) is proud to mark the 41st anniversary of Earth Day. The glass industry places a great deal of importance at being at the forefront of energy efficiency.

As stewards of the environment, the industry invests millions of dollars each year in technology that improves the energy efficiency of buildings. Energy efficient technology impacts windows and doors, glass on commercial buildings, and windshields. Escalating oil prices underscore the need to be reliant on renewable energy, such as solar panel technology that has been a sharp focus of the NGA’s education and events.National Glass Associatio Among other environmental initiatives, the NGA is a member of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Efficiency Consortium, which focuses on pushing the outer limits of glass and glazing technology to reduce energy use. The NGA is also involved in energy related policy on a national level and works to educate the industry on new technology. The NGA’s GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo is known as a platform for new product rollouts in the industry. Glass companies from across North America, as well internationally based firms, gather every year to introduce, demonstrate, and view the latest industry technology. New and innovative products, including those focused on energy efficiency, are highlighted in the Innovations Pavilion. National Glass Associatio GlassBuild America, scheduled for September 12-14 in Atlanta, GA, will feature panel discussions on energy efficiency for the third consecutive year; the 6th annual Glazing Executives Forum will explore the next wave of energy efficiency in glass; and the inaugural Architects Forum will focus on the Architecture 2030 Initiative and sparking energy efficiency.National Glass Associatio For more information on the industry’s year-round dedication to the environment, visit www.glass.org or www.glassmagazine.com.
