The seventh edition of the show opened with a series of new launches.

New product launches, latest innovations and emerging technologies kick-started the Gulf Glass 2017 yesterday.

Marcel Dagher, general manager of HIET was happy with the response the stand attracted on Day 1 and expressed interest to return the next year. “The opening was very good for us, and well organised.

"I appreciate the professionalism of the team. We have brought some innovative German products to be introduced in this region.”

The company returns this year with a host of products, in particular their laser engraved glass, which company officials say have not been used in this regional market yet. Sales consultant Feda Karmeh says he is looking to attract businesses with the new technologies, including fully-automated lines and new services.

Tec-pro Group brought a new innovation to the floor, which grabbed plenty of attention on the first day. Managing director, Dr Meriem Lakhdara, explained that her company was excited at introducing, for the first time in this market, a unique product.

The Turomas Tecnocat is a glass storage, loading and cutting machinery. The stand is hosting live demonstrations of the product each day of the show – between 11.00-12.00, 14.00-15.00 and 17.00-18.00.

Spain-based C3 Systems is exhibiting for the first time at Gulf Glass. Previously, they exhibited at The Big 5 Dubai in 2016. “We had a really good experience for the company last year and because of that we decided to return here this year,” says Carmen Canales from the firm’s export department.

“We feel, however, that this event works better for us as it is a specialist show – this makes more sense for us.”

The company is a producer of glazing frameless systems offers three different brands – Seeglass, Habitat and Seesky. “Our idea is to offer a limitless view. Basically, we don’t want to offer any profiles but instead a complete glass solution – from the top to bottom,” adds her colleague, Bojan Tepavcevic.

The firm is promoting a range of glazing systems, targeting companies that are looking for glass and aluminium solutions as well as architects, engineers and others in the industry.
