This revolutionary window combines a brand new profile system from Eurocell and Super Spacer leading Warm Edge Technology. "All 1000 windows a week that we manufacture are sold with a C rating as standard, but we've been working hard with Edgetech and Eurocell to offer an even higher specification product," explains John Whalley, Managing Director of Nationwide Windows. "To offer an A rating to our social housing, new build and refurbishment customers, it has to be Secured By Design and it has to be available at no extra cost. So the traditional ways of achieving an A rating, for example with triple glazing, were not an option for us. But now we have a solution thanks to a combination of Eurocell's new profile system, Edgetech's high performance Super Spacer and Pilkington's EnergiKare glass.
"The potential we're giving our customers to add value to their properties is huge which is why they are excited at the opportunity to be the first to buy this ground-breaking window. Properties benefit from better thermal efficiency which means residents benefit from savings on their heating bills. The first A rated windows we manufacture will be going into a project being completed by William Davies Homes."
"The launch of Nationwide's A rated Secured By Design window really is big news for the industry," adds Andy Jones, Edgetech's Managing Director. "Although companies have continued to achieve A rated windows, they have come up against a lot of criticism to say they are only doing it for the marketing glory because the windows aren't practical or cost effective. The fact that this window truly is commercially viable is a milestone in the future of our market and the move to higher window energy ratings. The bar has yet again been raised, and we're delighted to be able to help forward thinking customers like Nationwide, continue to drive the market on."
