Merlin Network, which is part of Saveheat Group, made the decision at the back end of 2018 to single source from KÖMMERLING and the decision has been one which has been particularly successful. On the back of this, the group has now made the decision to open up the Blairs brand, which is renowned for timber windows, to the KÖMMERLING brand and range of window and door systems.

The decision was made based on a number of key criteria including product design, performance and quality and the fact that the management team felt that KÖMMERLING would be a better all-round business partner for them as a group. The demands of the Scottish market often require better performing products and the System 70, newly launched System 76, along with the impressive PremiLine patio door now form the core product proposition under the Blairs and Merlin Network brands.

Alex Grey, managing director of Saveheat Group commented: ‘This was a fundamentally important business decision for the long-term and we firmly believe that KÖMMERLING was the stand out choice for us. It’s a genuinely exciting partnership that we’re embarking on and are looking forward to taking our products to all geographic points in Scotland.’

Brian McDonald, sales director of profine UK and KÖMMERLING concluded: ‘We’re thrilled with the opportunities for us with Saveheat Group and their respective brands. The move by them from dual to single source shows just what a strong and compelling business proposition that we have with KÖMMERLING and we look forward to working with Alex and the team for many years to come.’
