Despite the challenging times within the industry, Listers are highlighting that it's not all bad news for the businesses that are set to survive. Suitably entitled 'Enjoy the Ride,' their recognisable campaign, featuring a surfboard, engages with the opportunity and optimism that can be gained through effective foresight and proactive decision making. As part of this they are offering a free business review for installation companies.
The aim of their campaign is to encourage companies to take a serious look at their position and that of their current supplier. Taking the 'Enjoy the Ride' review points to the positive action that will help installers to turn this difficult time into an opportunity to grow their businesses. It centres on 7 key principles for bucking the downward trend and ensuring the best possible business position.
Listers recently enjoyed their 20th consecutive record sales month, and despite the market conditions last year, they added another half a million pounds to their turnover ending the year 8.5% up on the previous. They want their record of success to demonstrate to others that they too can do more than just survive the tough challenges in the industry and believe that although there is risk there is also opportunity. This view is a big motivator for future success.
These 7 key tips incorporate all aspects of business success and innovation. Areas placed under the microscope range from financial strength and customer satisfaction, to product innovation and investment in complete support packages.
The review consists of no-nonsense questions that will indicate the level of commitment, determination and stability that suppliers provide to their installers. Any supplier that truly invests in its customers should be able to measure up confidently against them.
But where does the surfboard come in? Mark Warren, Listers Managing Director gives us the answer: "We see this time of consolidation as hitting our industry like a tidal wave. But there is not doubt that there will be many survivors. We don't want our customers just to survive. we want them to make the most of the opportunities that these events bring. So we came up with the 'Surfboard analogy: don't just survive, Enjoy the Ride!' and by all accounts this
has sparked some real interest from installation companies who want to make sure that they are with the right supplier."
So, while this is a period of unprecedented consolidation, Listers are prompting installers to take their free business review and check out the long term stability of their current suppliers and how their suppliers plan to make them stronger in the face of the imminent tidal wave of change. At the end of the review installers will be in a better position to decide whether to stay with their supplier or look for another.
Underpinning the business review is the emphasis on strengthening the installer's business to take the opportunities that are there before us all. Mark adds, "Taking the review won't cost the installer a penny, but it could just highlight what they can do to not just be a survivor, but to actually Enjoy the Ride."
