Conference attendees voted and selected Konarka out of 393 exhibitors. In its eighth year, GlassBuild America is the gathering place for the glass, window and door industries in North America.
“This was Konarka’s first time exhibiting at GlassBuild America, and we were delighted with the response our solar panels received by the glass building community,” commented Kenneth McCauley, vice president of sales, marketing and business development at Konarka. “As a leader in OPV technology and the BIPV market, we look forward to working with key glass fabrication partners to integrate Power Plastic into their building envelope elements to deliver cost-effective, efficient solar electricity for building owners while also delivering an attractive aesthetic.”
Konarka’s “Best in Show” award at GlassBuild America 2011 is consistent with the company’s focus in the building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) market. Konarka exhibited its Power Plastic semi-transparent solar panels that are easily laminated onto glass and other construction materials including steel, films and textiles.
