It was a big decision, as explained by Managing Director Neil Webster: “The decision to change profile is never easy due to the major investment required. Changing processes, retooling, and restructuring the whole PVCu manufacturing plant to work the new profile is a big undertaking. There has been a direct impact on stock management and storage as existing PVCu commercial contracts had to be completed using the old PVCu systems while new projects have been launched using the new Profile 22 specification.”
High quality PVCu profiles
The new product range, however, is already proving a success: “With the Optima Range being launched in April by Profile 22, we quickly recognised the long-term benefits. Being able to provide both the conventional Casement, and Tilt and Turn PVCu Windows alongside a new and highly innovative Flush Casement and Tilt and Turn option will satisfy a growing market demand from the Trade and Consumer markets. This will help us save both on material costs and storage demands as the profiles for both designs are interchangeable. These savings can then be passed on to the end user, so everyone’s a winner.”
Investing in success
As part of our continued expansion plans we will move into new premises later in the year. From the new factory, we will produce PVCu, Aluminium and Composite doors. We have also recently appointed a new Sales and Marketing Manager, Nick Hibberd.
Nick is excited about his new role with Kingfisher and said: “From a marketing perspective we still have a substantial amount of work to do; renewing brochures and company literature, updating all our social and online media, overhauling our showroom, and generally retraining our sales force to present the new features and benefits that the Optima system has to offer. 2017 is going to be a dramatic period of change for all the people at Kingfisher Windows, which is what was so appealing for taking up this position in the sales team, what better time is there to make such sweeping changes across the board. For me personally it is an opportunity to put more than 20 years of such ‘change management’ experience to good use.”
We are working very closely with all our major suppliers to gain maximum leverage from the differing marketing departments to create a whole new suite of sales and marketing tools.
This will help us to best represent such a unique cross combination of PVCu, Aluminium and Composite door fabrication – all under the one roof.
