One of GGR’s UNIC mini cranes proved to be the perfect remedy for any headaches caused by this potentially tricky glazing job at a hospital recently.

A 3 tonne capacity UNIC URW-506 mini crane and one of GGR’s expert operators took on the challenge of installing 115 glass façade panels to the hospital’s new atrium.The mini crane used a 500kg capacity “6 in Line” MRTA611 vacuum lifter to position each of the 3.6 metre tall units onto the circular shaped structure, which were then fixed into place by glaziers on an access platform.

 

During the two week project, the UNIC URW-506 fitted three levels of 250kg glazed units to the atrium, using a 500kg searcher hook to install the top pieces which sat underneath a 1.2 metre overhang.
