Edgetech’s final Journey to C workshop has taken place in Belfast where companies learned more about the changes to Building Regulations for Northern Ireland.

Andy Jones, Managing Director of Edgetech explains: “Feedback on the final event was positive from delegates who felt they were given access to information they wouldn’t normally have received, which was the aim of all of the seminars we’ve hosted nationwide. Hearing from ER Certification, CENSolutions (co-sponsors of the Belfast event) and Edgetech, delegates were given details about the up and coming changes to the Building Regulations, what they would mean for their market specifically and the tools available to them to make the most of the opportunities ahead. Here is what some of the delegates had to say:

“We supply and fit PVC-U windows and doors and timber sliding sash windows so we were keen to hear how the changes to Building Regulations would affect us. The seminar was enlightening and useful as although companies have a lot to do to become compliant there is not much information available in Northern Ireland to help you through the process. We’re often the last people to be considered in terms of support so events like this are much appreciated.” Anne Binny, Walter C Campbell

“I found the seminar very interesting with a good mix of general information and more detailed technical explanations. Working for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive I need to ensure our specification is up to speed with the changing legislation – we place a lot of value on having the very latest information so want to take advantage of any opportunities such as this. We liaise between manufacturers and local authorities and housing associations from the development stage so an event like this will really help us to ensure we are continuing to provide the right information.” Paul McStravick, Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Andy continues: “And Journey to C won’t end there. We have big plans to continue to help companies not only achieve the energy ratings they need by the 1st October deadline, when the new Building Regulations come into force, but also to ensure companies profit from the changes.”
