Japan's Asahi Glass announced Thursday it plans to invest $128 million to build a new glass furnace in the Czech Republic.
Japan's biggest glass maker said the construction of the 700-ton per day capacity furnace will begin late this year at the Glaverbel S.A., a European subsidiary of Asahi Glass.
The full-scale production of float glass in the Czech furnace, mainly used for construction and cars, is to begin in 2008, Asahi Glass said.
