Wood’s Powr-Grip, Inc., "the original and trusted name in glass handling™," has announced a new development for vacuum lifters, a computer-operated control system called Intelli-Grip™.
Intelli-Grip features proprietary software, a color display screen, and ergonomic controls. This system is designed to add a substantially greater margin of safety to vacuum lifters, while also improving ease-of-use and efficiency.
Intelli-Grip does this by helping prevent human error, warning of vacuum leaks and low battery before they become dangers, managing power to extend lifter run time, and auto-testing the vacuum system.
As technology works its way into an ever-increasing array of industries and consumer goods, Wood’s Powr-Grip believes that Intelli-Grip represents the future of vacuum lifting and glass handling.
According to Bryan Wood, CEO of Wood’s Powr-Grip, “Intelli-Grip Technology is a quantum leap in vacuum lifter safety. The industry has not seen a revolution like this since my grandfather developed the red-line vacuum indicator for hand-held vacuum cups, and the original, self-contained battery powered vacuum lifters over 50 years ago.”
Intelli-Grip technology will eventually become standard on most Powr-Grip vacuum lifters, beginning with their best-selling battery-powered lifters for glass and cladding installation, with load capacities from 700 lbs (320 kg) to 1400 lbs (635 kg). These lifters will be in full production and available by January 2017.
