The combined event will feature informative lunch presentations on several industry technical issues, networking sessions, meetings of several IGMA committees and more.The first full day of the event features a meeting of the Emerging Technology and Innovation Committee at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). In addition to a tour of the Flex-Lab facilities at LBNL, the LBNL Research team will be presenting during lunch on several projects.
During Wednesday’s schedule, featuring a meeting of the Technical Services Committee, Julia Schimmelpenningh of Eastman Chemical Co. will be presenting “Safety Glazing: Does it Make the Cut?” during a lunch presentation. Wednesday night also features the annual “themed” networking session from IGMA with a special “60s Magical Bus Tour” reception and themed dinner.
On Thursday, the event features a meeting of the Glass Safety Awareness Council and the Certification and Education Committee. The lunch presentation is “Study: How to Measure Volatile Fog Objectively” by Dave Cooper and Jonathan Herndon of Guardian Industries Corp. The rest of Thursday and all of Friday include education sessions for fabricators and installers including Gas Filling by Randi Ernst featuring the famous balloon races and other new activities, which highlight the benefits and properties of exotic gases. A panel presentation on Glass Performance for Energy Efficient Fenestration, which provides specific details on how to select the best glass for a specific application is scheduled for the Thursday afternoon session.
“We’re combining our committee week and education seminar to provide attendees with a total value-added program,” says Margaret Webb, IGMA’s Executive Director.
