Guardian Industries officially launched its SunGuard® “Build With Light™” campaign with an exhibit at the 2008 American Institute of Architects’ National Convention and Design Expo in Boston.

It was the first time we’ve attended the conference in recent years and we were able to show architects an exciting selection of new products,” said Chris Dolan, Guardian director of commercial glass programs. “Our primary goal at the show was to generate awareness and specifications for our SunGuard Select fabricators. We’re pleased with the contacts we made and the reception we received on the booth.”

Among the attractions at the booth:

“Build With Light” Glass Studio

The SunGuard booth was experiential, inspiring and architect-centric. At the show, Guardian debuted the SunGuard “Build With Light” Glass Studio, where architects were able to evaluate glass under different light conditions so they can see how it will truly look once it is installed. The studio is able to simulate natural daylight and show how the appearance of glass changes when viewed in transmitted and reflected light. Additionally, Guardian representatives provided architects with practical advice on how to talk to their clients about glass, and how to help them “see” and appreciate a design concept.

A glass chair giveaway

Guardian secured an eye-catching, all-glass chair designed by Jacqueline Terpins Studio of Sao Paulo, Brazil (www.terpins.com) to display in the booth and give away to one attendee at the convention. Ms. Terpins has partnered with Guardian on the development of furniture and other home accessories made of glass. About this particular piece, she said, “With its straight lines and simplicity, the chair can almost disappear in a room, but at the same time, serve as a conversation piece and an inviting place to sit.” Made with DiamondGuard® scratch-resistant glass from Guardian, the chair helped to engage architects in the booth while also showcasing our commitment to excellence in design. Stay tuned to see which lucky visitor will receive the chair. Guardian architectural sales managers were on hand throughout the show to discuss the growing possibilities available to the architectural community using SunGuard products.
