Auburn Hills, MI (Sept. 28, 2009) – Guardian Industries will feature its high performance ShowerGuard product line at GlassBuild America 2009, Sept. 30 – Oct. 2 in Atlanta and be a key participant in a panel discussion on using glass in solar energy.

In partnership with Coastal Industries (Booth 401), Guardian will display its patented ShowerGuard glass in clear, UltraWhite and SatinDeco.Guardian’s ShowerGuard is the first and only shower glass with protection that never needs to be reapplied. The surface of the glass is sealed through a patented ion-beam process during manufacturing, so it resists the corrosion and discoloration caused by constant exposure to heat, humidity, hard water, soaps and harsh cleaners. As a result, it requires less cleaning materials and maintains its original like-new appearance for years.

Guardian ShowerGuard SatinDeco combines the durability and easy care characteristics of ShowerGuard with SatinDeco, a beautiful, distinctive privacy glass that is manufactured using the acid-etching process. ShowerGuard UltraWhite reduces the greenish tint of regular glass.

On Thursday, Oct. 1, Guardian chairman and glass group president Russ Ebeid will serve as moderator for GlassBuild’s educational seminar, “The Solar Panel Industry: Where We Go From Here.” Guardian chief technology officer Scott Thomsen, along with executives from several of the world’s leading solar panel manufacturers and energy firms, will participate in this high-profile, interactive panel discussion offering a comprehensive overview of the global industry. Key points of emphasis will include the latest solar panel research, current and long-term market trends and developments in both photovoltaic and mirror technologies including the performance and durability of glass.

"As a leading glass manufacturer, our goal is to create new products that optimize the energy investment of our customers," said Thomsen. “We’re looking forward to joining other leading solar industry players on the panel to discuss what needs to be done to drive technology forward and meet the challenges of achieving new efficiencies.”
