A recycling project aims to cut unemployment by providing training opportunities in south Glasgow. The Govanhill Recycling and Environmental Team project - launched by local MSP Frank McAveety and funded by Euro cash, Fresh Futures and Communities Scotland - will set up a community business designed to increase recycling, improve com- munity involvement and reduce unemployment.
Project worker Izzie Johnston said: "We want to recycle glass and offer services to those such as the elderly and disabled."
