Steve Ashton: "We were hopeful of a steady stream of existing and known potential clients of course, but being mindful of general current economic caution, I confess I was personally expecting a slower show this year. Never in my wildest dreams could I have hoped for the business we attained over those 5 days, and interest from the Middle and Far East was astounding.
Orders taken on the stand totalled over £1,000,000 with the company’s new dry arriss machine UNIX Airflow proving to be of major interest to companies in the tempering market. Existing and new customers from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran, India, Denmark and the UK, purchased versions of the Airflow featuring amazingly efficient floatation tables, flip-up additional central supports for long glass and integral dust extraction. Increased world-wide demand for tempered, soft coated glass types is driving demand for this high performance dry system.
The company’s world renowned SeamMax-X system was, as always, a major hit. Leading Cairo based glass processors EGYBEL International have signed a contract for max 2.5m x 5.0m fully automatic arrissing of random glass sizes direct from breakout, laser marking, automatic routing to IGU, Laminating and Printing lines, fully automatic batching for tempering and integrated ’intelligent’ quality scanner.
Easyseam a low cost hand held X-belt arris tool also aroused considerable interest with 16 orders taken during the week.
On the home front, orders were taken for Werfeli Georgian bar milling and stapling equipment, PIB extruders, UNIX Airflow for Pilkington Aintree and a 2 year agreement to exclusively supply leading IGU manufacturer DB Glass with its Supasiv Ultra brand desiccant.
UK Sales Manager Ross Worrall comments "To add another prestige client such as DB Glass to our portfolio demonstrates once again Ashton Industrial’s commitment to deliver only the finest quality products to the marketplace".
