More than 50% of the competitors will be using GlasWeld equipment, including 2010 World Champion Randy Olson.09.14.2011– (Bend, OR) - GlasWeld, a complete solutions provider for the glass repair industry, will be represented by more than fifty percent of the competitors at the 2011 Walt Gorman Memorial Windshield Repair Olympics to be held during Auto Glass Week in Memphis, Tennessee September 15-17, 2011.

At least six of the eleven competitors will be using GlasWeld windshield repair equipment and resins during the international competition.



The 2010 world champion Randy Olson of Chip Medic in Bend, Oregon will defend his title among competitors from across the United States and internationally. There will be five competitors from GlasWeld Spain who competed in the Spanish version of the Windshield Repair Olympics held in Madrid in July. First place winner Braulio López, who participated in the 2009 Windshield Repair Olympics in Las Vegas will compete for GlasWeld Spain as well as four of his compatriots. López has completed 15,000 repairs over the last thirteen years and will be leading the Spanish contingent. Olson was the Gold medal winner at the 2010 Walt Gorman Windshield Repair Olympics. He is a retired firefighter and has been in the windshield repair business for six years. The 2010 event was his first and only windshield repair competition.

The sixth annual Walt Gorman Windshield Repair Olympics competition is designed to find the auto glass repair technician who completes the best windshield repair. Judging covers six major areas, including customer interaction and technician comportment, as well as safe and proper repair practices following the ANSI/ROLAGS standard for windshield repair.
