Glassrobots’ answer is RoboTemp™.
RoboTemp™ is recognised as the furnace that produces the best possible quality you can achieve – especially for soft coated, low-E glass. It has the quickest heating time and the largest capacity. With low-E glass, it achieves 29 seconds/mm of thickness. Superior flatness and optical quality complete the above benefits.
Glassrobots delivered the largest full convection flat toughening furnace in the world at the end of 2006, handling maximum glass size of 3.2m x 8m. The RoboTemp™ furnace was delivered to Thiele Glas in Germany, a medium sized, family owned company, for the manufacture of façade glass. Glassrobots is continuing to look into the development of even larger furnaces. In fact, furnaces are ready to take 3.3m already. To date, Glassrobots has sold more than 20 of these machines, these high end products that are expected to grow in terms of sales.
As to the automotive glass technology, Glassrobots supplied its most advanced model of TFA 3evolution™ windscreen bending furnace to Saint Gobain Sekurit in Estonia, with start-up at the beginning of 2007. The project was particularly special because it was the first furnace to use an online quality control robot to measure the shape of the glass and check its tolerances. The robot was also capable of altering the bending parameters. New concepts were used for heat control and control of the moulds during the bending process.
Glassrobots acknowledges that its machines are not among the low-priced ones on the market. However, customers are increasingly analysing the quality of the glass produced. In fact, Glassrobots is convinced that quality will become an increasingly important competition factor for the future glass market. High speed accuracy and even distribution of heating – especially convection heating – creates savings in operation and quality product.
