Contract grows A320 transparencies market share - extends relationship with easyJet See GKN at MRO Europe, Hall 6, booth 355 GKN Aerospace has secured a contract with easyJet to provide replacement A320 series front windshields through to the end of 2014.

This agreement is expected to be worth over USD1m.

The GKN Aerospace A320 series front windshield exceeds industry performance benchmarks for cockpit transparencies and is proving to be the reliable, low-risk windshield of choice for A320 series operators worldwide. The proven design protects against moisture ingress, reducing the risk of delamination and electrical system failure that can lead to premature windshield removals and unscheduled aircraft downtime. Production for this contract will take place at the GKN Aerospace facility in Kings Norton, UK.

Mike Beck, President and CEO, Propulsion Systems & Special Products, GKN Aerospace comments: "Winning this contract extends our ever-growing A320 transparency market share and develops our established relationship with easyJet - who have the largest fleet of A320 series aircraft in Europe. The excellent reliability and enhanced in-service life our transparencies offer is a result of our proven proprietary coatings technology. This reduces the risk of aircraft downtime and flight cancellations, benefiting our customer, easyJet, and their passengers.”

GKN Aerospace already supplies easyJet with A320 series cockpit lateral windows. The company also supplies wing tip lenses and passenger cabin windows to A320 series operators worldwide.
