Gimav member companies stand out on the Vitrum 2015 global stage

The first is because of the ever stronger global economy: there are no longer periods of stability, but almost a moratorium between one recession and another.

In whichever corner of the world, economic, political or financial crises occur, since markets are totally interconnected and permeable, these crises propagate immediately and (of course) globally. Instability has become the general rule. And this applies to everybody. As such Italian companies, and here is the second reason, which are among the most coveted in the world, are also among the most exposed to local competition, which continues to be based on price despite having often achieved an acceptable level of technology. Of course the other, good side to this is: there is still a wide, and increasing, divide in favor of Made in Italy products because of ongoing investments in R&D made by Italian companies over the past difficult years. And this is paying off. As the positive results for 2015 go to show. However, competition is difficult as are the efforts to maintain a market foothold.
