Gerresheimer stages lecture at China Pharm 2010 in Beijing about its innovative RTF® syringes

Date: 29 October 2010

The Asian region has over many years ranked for the Gerresheimer Group as one of the most important growth markets.

We now have production facilities in seven different locations in China. With the help of our distribution network in Asia specially for RTF® syringes we will in the future be able to offer our customers an even more individual service and cater for highly complex and demanding requirements”, says Dr. Max Raster, member of the Executive Board with responsibility for the Divisions of Tubular Glass and Life Science Research.

Tubular glass products

At China Pharm 2010, which is being held from October 26 to 29 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, Gerresheimer (Stand 7331) is exhibiting its comprehensive range of pharmaceutical primary- packaging products made of tubular glass. This includes special syringe systems, cartridges for drug delivery systems, vials and ampoules. The highly specialized syringe systems from the Gerresheimer Group are elucidated by Yanxiang Wang, Business Director Prefillable Syringes, China, and Horst Fritzlar, Director Sales Development, Asia, Tubular Glass Division, in a lecture on the subject of “Innovative syringe systems and solutions for sensitive drugs” to be staged in the course of the “Pharmaceutical Technology and Equipment Exchange Conference, German Pavilion lecture series” (1.30 p.m. on Oct 28, Seminar Room E231).

The lecture includes an examination of ready-to-fill (RTF®) glass syringes, which can be supplied with tamper-evident closure systems, laser-applied identity codes and/or multicolor printing. With the help of the baked-on siliconisation process which is patented for Gerresheimer under the trademark Baked-On RTF® these syringes can furthermore be optimized for sensitive biotech medications. In addition, the display includes prefillable ClearjectTM plastic syringes made of Cyclic Olefin Polymer (COP), which are particularly suitable for the demanding field of cytostatics and biopharmaceutics.
