A major glassworks in Central Asia in the town of Chuy-Tokmak (in the northern Kyrgyz Chuy Region) will be launched soon.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Trade and Industry Ministry has said that the German company has bought a factory that is standing idle. The factory will now be called Interglass.

Modern equipment have been delivered to the factory from Germany over the past 18 months.

The German company intends to invest 10 million dollars in the factory shortly. But the factory will already able to meet the demand for glass both in Central Asia and in the Russian regions of Siberia and the Urals. These areas have been forced to buy goods abroad following the closure of the factory.
