For its 35,000-m2 logistics site in Greater Paris, Pixmania has selected Fives Cinetic to extend the mechanization of its order preparation system for light product orders.

Fives Cinetic has been supporting the growth of Pixmania for over 5 years.
 
Pixmania.com represents a veritable marketplace and is No. 1 in France and Europe for internet sales of photography, video, sound, IT and telephone equipment, offering over 1 million products, from toys to luggage to home-improvement products.
 
This new contract signed with Fives Cinetic covers two key points for the continuing growth of Pixmania and its e-business logistics: Guaranteeing ultra-fast shipping times for an ever increasing number of products.
 
The increase in the number of products will be ensured through the extension of the order preparation solution using Fives Cinetic conveyors.
 
“To allow us to significantly increase our shipping volumes, Fives Cinetic will carry out numerous extensions and modifications of the parcel conveyor circuit with the integration of the 4th automated packing line and an additional automatic labelling line” explains Grégoire Koudrine, Pixmania Logistics Manager.
 
The I-pack® automated packing solution supplied by B+ Equipement allows boxes to be folded to the correct height after measuring the height of the contents and the placement of a top to close the box.
 
This project will be executed during September 2010 without stopping Pixmania operations.
