New Participant and Advanced Levels Available

Registration for the 2022 Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) Leadership Development Program is now open through March 31, with trainings beginning this spring at two different levels. For the first time ever, FGIA will offer both a New Participant level and an Advanced Training level, making it possible for those who have participated in the past to gain new insights at a higher plane of experience as a leader.

“We are pleased to be able to expand the options for this popular training program,” said Kaydeen Laird, FGIA Education Manager. “Many of our previous participants have found value in the coursework as part of their ongoing growth process and expressed interest in a higher level of training. Now, they can build on what they have learned and further hone their leadership skills with the Advanced Training sessions.”

Both levels will be led by longtime Program Facilitator, Oak Moser who has vast experience in the glass industry, as well as coaching certification and training.

“The Leadership Development Program focuses on the soft skills leaders need to achieve their full potential,” said Moser. “Everyone in the workforce develops hard skills required to be employed in the fenestration and glazing industry, but developing soft skills provides the necessary intangibles to become a great leader.” Some examples of soft skills include communicating effectively with people, recognizing a company’s culture and effectively aligning with that culture and understanding accountability in the workplace. While trainings are monthly, recordings are available to those unable to attend live.

New Participants Level Training

The New Participants level consists of eight monthly training sessions, including four on foundational topics and four on leadership core content. These topics include:

  • Foundational Topics
    • Understanding the leadership spectrum

    • Setting expectations with people
  • Core Content

    • Leading with better self-awareness
    • Setting goals by personality type

Trainings are monthly, beginning April 13, 2022. Registration is required by March 31. The cost is $1,000 USD for FGIA members and $1,500 USD for non-members.

Advanced Participants Level Training

This advanced level is made up of four monthly trainings centered around higher-level core content, including:

  • Establishing personal values proposition
  • Examining how successful people think
  • Developing mental toughness to deal with stress and setbacks
  • Setting personal goals

Registration is available only to previous LDP participants or individuals with direct reports in their professional roles. Trainings begin May 18, 2022. Registration is required by March 31. The cost is $500 for FGIA members and $750 for non-members.
