Entegris appoints Michael Wright Chief Operating Officer

Date: 3 June 2002

Entegris, Inc., the materials integrity management company, today announced the appointment of Michael Wright to the new position of chief operating officer (COO) and reorganization of the company's internal structure.

In his new role as COO, Wright will have responsibility for Entegris' product, technology, operations and communications teams. He will assume these responsibilities immediately and continue to report into Entegris' chief executive officer, Jim Dauwalter. Wright previously served as the company's Microelectronics Group president.

"This company-wide reorganization is a strategic move, enabling Entegris to maximize growth opportunities and expand into new markets," said Dauwalter. "It is my vision that this structure will allow us to better develop Entegris' employees, serve and grow our current markets and diversify into new markets faster. I am confident that Michael Wright will successfully contribute to these efforts through his leadership in the COO role."

Entegris has changed its organizational structure from two product divisions, microelectronics and fluid handling, to high technology markets. Frank Sidell, formerly head of Entegris' Fluid Handling Group, has been named president of the company's Pharmaceutical/Food and Beverage/Medical market. Other focus markets include Data Storage, Services, Semiconductor and a new area to be announced this summer.

"At Entegris we have always focused on customer service," said Wright. "By organizing around markets, we now are able to serve individual industries better than ever before. This move allows us to be even more responsive to our customers by focusing materials integrity management solutions on individual customer and industry needs."

Wright is a 20-year veteran of the semiconductor equipment and materials industry. He has served in many leadership roles throughout the industry including chief operating officer, vice president and president for such companies as General Signal, IAS, ISI and EMPAK. Wright serves on the board of directors for August Technologies and is the current chairman of the SEMI Industry Strategy Symposium (ISS) North America. He is also the founder of Wright Williams and Kelly (WWK), an independent cost modeling and consulting firm in the semiconductor equipment and materials industries.
