Tracy Rogers, technical director for Edgetech I.G., will participate in this year’s event, presenting his paper, “Benefits of High-Performance Insulating Glass in Temperate Climates,” at 10 a.m. May 7 as part of the solar and energy efficiency in architecture programming.
In his presentation, Rogers asserts that high-performance IG is not just beneficial in cold climates. It can also provide significant advantages in temperate climates in terms of reducing production of greenhouse gases and reducing solar heat gain in buildings.
“With a continued focus on reducing greenhouse gases worldwide, even temperate regions are now looking to high-performance IG to help meet environmental goals in structures,” Rogers said. “The GPD South America presentation will focus on how sealants and low conductivity spacers contribute to the durability of IG units and protect Low-e coatings long term for a more sustainable system.”
