As architects continue to seek high-performance products that contribute to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification, Edgetech will feature the latest in commercial glazing technology at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) exhibition, June 10-12 in Miami, Fla., including Super Spacer TriSeal™ for structural and captured-glazed insulating glass, SustainaBLOCK™ setting blocks and the new, revolutionary RENOVATE® technology with Super Spacer TriSeal from JE Berkowitz (JEB).
“We are expanding our product demonstrations at AIA this year with the addition of the RENOVATE by BERKOWITZ retrofitting solution that enables building professionals to turn existing non-operable, single-pane IG into energy-efficient, triple-pane systems,” said Joe Erb, product manager for Edgetech I.G. “This is a truly innovative product that has gained much interest in the industry because it is up to 35 percent less expensive than a full tear out and replacement, and it is more thermally efficient.”
In addition to RENOVATE, Edgetech will feature SustainaBLOCK setting blocks and Super Spacer TriSeal at its AIA booth (# 2163), including the popular structural testing chamber.
Super Spacer TriSeal
Edgetech’s Super Spacer TriSeal is a unique triple-seal spacer technology that reduces energy consumption by up to 15 percent within curtain wall glazing systems. Because of TriSeal’s special no-metal design, seal failures are dramatically reduced or eliminated and noise is reduced up to two decibels over metal-based spacers. All Super Spacer products are sustainable and contribute to achieving LEED certification, even in the most demanding applications.
RENOVATE by BERKOWITZ
RENOVATE by BERKOWITZ is a new, patent-pending technology that uses existing single-pane units to create an energy-efficient, triple-pane system without the investment of a full replacement. RENOVATE, which includes a custom version of Super Spacer TriSeal, is designed specifically for commercial retrofitting applications, including office buildings, schools, hospitals and government buildings that have single-pane, non-operating windows.
The RENOVATE system can contribute 7 to 31 LEED points and is manufactured by JEB to be retrofitted over existing glass from the interior of the building for minimal disruption of tenants.
SustainaBLOCK Setting Blocks
The SustainaBLOCK product line includes the latest in stable silicone setting block technology for total system compatibility. With today’s demand for sustainable design, high-performance glazing components and sealants must work symbiotically like never before. SustainaBLOCKs meet this demand in a variety of sizes, profiles and materials.
The AIA exhibition runs June 10-12 at the Miami Convention Center. For more information about Edgetech’s recent news, upcoming events and products for the architectural market, visit www.edgetech360.com.
