Laurence's U.S. Aluminum Division, an industry leader and manufacturer of aluminum architectural systems, introduces the new Series 3000 High Performance Sliding Door System. Designed to appeal and engineered to perform, the new two-track sliding door system is thermally broken to provide highly functional fenestration solutions for high-rise residential applications requiring contemporary styling and enhanced energy saving potential. The new high performance thermal sliding door will premier at the AIA Expo 2014, June 26-28 in Chicago.
Designed for fin or block frame applications, Series 3000 High Performance Sliding Doors feature a 4-1/2" frame depth that can accommodate 1" dual glazed and 1-1/4" triple glazed insulating glass in OX, XO, OXO, and OXXO configurations. Available in three models tested as AAMA LC25, CW40, and CW60 rated products, the Series 3000 has been engineered to comply with high structural loads and meet the most demanding specifications. The new sliding system has optional stacking subsills and thermally broken head channels and bottom tracks to provide exceptional thermal performance. Its rugged overall construction, coupled with heavy wall stiles and interlocks, create a truly monumental thermal sliding unit. Doors are equipped with multi-point locking system, heavy-duty adjustable tandem rollers, and floor track with stainless steel caps to ensure smooth operation during years of service. A 3" heavy-duty stainless steel roller assembly is also available to effortlessly operate with heavier doors.
"Building efficiency is a growing concern for architects, owners, and installers in the hospitality and residential markets," says Gerald Hendrick, President of U.S. Aluminum. "We are addressing these increased industry concerns and requirements head-on by developing systems that hold up to a multitude of codes and environmental conditions. With the Series 3000 we are expanding our thermal door offerings to provide attractive and practical solutions for hotels, condominiums, apartments, and lofts."
Series 3000 Doors have undergone comprehensive testing including NFRC and in-house simulations, meeting CRL-U.S. Aluminum's strict requirements for quality and high structural performance. The sliding doors are available in several corrosion-resistant finishes including standard anodized clear, dark bronze, and black finishes, in addition to custom anodized and Kynar-painted finishes. The Series 3000's design comes standard with a multi-point locking system, and is capable of having separate interior and exterior finishes, as well as optional extruded screens and factory glazing. Clean sightlines, high thermal performance, and excellent resistance to air and water infiltration make the Series 3000 the preferred choice for owners and architect alike.
In addition to the Series 3000 High Performance Sliding Door, CRL-U.S. Aluminum offers a comprehensive line of thermal entrances, storefronts, curtain walls, window walls, and windows. All systems are proudly designed, engineered, and manufactured in the U.S.A. in CRL-U.S. Aluminum's Waxahachie, Texas manufacturing headquarters.
