CGI INTERNATIONAL launches the only 7mm impact rated fire safety glass to meet 2B2 classification

Date: 28 July 2011

CGI International has recently launched Pyroguard EW 30 Impact, the only 7mm fire resistant impact glass to comply with 2B2 safety classifications.

Developed as a 7mm glass, Pyroguard EW 30 Impact has achieved full ceiling height (2750cm) certification and is particularly suited for use in fire screens, partitions and fire doors. Providing 30 minutes EW (integrity and radiation control) protection, Pyroguard Impact 30 can also be cut by hand.

Steve Goodburn, sales director of CGI International said: “Pyroguard EW 30 Impact gives much more flexibility to architects and specifiers, allowing them to glaze larger areas without compromising on design or impact safety." “As the product is much lighter than its predecessor and can be hand cut – it’s also much easier to handle, quicker to glaze and more cost effective." “It’s vital that we continue responding to the evolving needs of customers and CGI International’s unwavering commitment to research and development is testament to that.”

Pyroguard EW 30 Impact has test certification for use in panels of 880 mm (width) to 2750 mm (height), dependent on the frame material and is available in sheet sizes of 2780 mm by 1580 mm. It has been tested and certified at TNO Quality (Eindhoven, Netherlands) and WINTECH (UK). Pyroguard EW 30 Impact offers the same advantages of standard Pyroguard – including UV stability, making it suitable for internal and external glazing, as well as no edge taping. The product is also available in satin and other decorative finishes.
