CertainTeed Corporation's Insulation Group has announced its intent to build another manufacturing line in its Kansas City, KS insulation manufacturing facility.

The line will be dedicated to the production of the company's popular GREENGUARD Certified premium loose-fill products, InsulSafe 4 and OPTIMA Fiber Glass Blown-In Insulations and is expected to boost total capacity of the products by approximately 15-20 percent.

Engineering on the new line is currently underway and construction will commence in early 2004. The line will start-up mid-year of 2004.

"There has been a growing demand for these products and we have had limited capacity over the past few years due to increased desire for the products in new and existing home attic applications and for use in sidewalls in the Blow-In-Blanket(BIB) System," explains Jorma Toivonen, president of CertainTeed's Insulation Group. "With the new line running 24/7, we will be able to more than satisfy our customer's needs and eliminate the tight supply situation of recent years."
