Celebrating the glass industry at festival

Events and exhibitions will celebrate the glass industry at a Black Country festival. Stourbridge glass festival (September 25 -29) has demonstrations, workshops, talks, exhibitions, open days and a pressed glass collectors' fair starting with exhibitions and studio demonstrations at Broadfield House, Compton Drive, Kingswinford.

A glass treasure trail, tests knowledge and skills by following clues through the Glass Quarter (10-4pm).

The same day the Red House Glass Cone, Wordsley High Street, features hot glass demonstrations by artists Nikki Williams and Phil Vickery.

Plowden & Thompson at Dial Glassworks, Amblecote, has a one-day flameworking course and tours. On September 26 exhibitions continue at Broadfield House and there will be a hot glass demonstration (10am-4pm) at the glass cone with Dean Hopkins and a one-day silver work course at Plowden & Thompson.

On September 27 engraver Dennis Mann is at Broadfield House. Demonstrations in core formed glass techniques will be alongside a collectors fair.

The glass cone has a glass painting childrens workshop and cameo brooches workshop.
