Call for Papers for the 3rd Glass Performance Days (GPD) India: Conference proceedings on Energy Efficiency, Solar and Glass Technology in Warm Climates can be submitted as from now!

Date: 23 July 2012

The Indian edition of the world’s most important conference for glass specialists, the Glass Performance Days (GPD), will be held from 19 to 20 March at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre in Mumbai in parallel with GLASSPEX INDIA – International Exhibition for Glass – Production Processing Products – (20 to 22 March 2013).GPD, which was originally held in Finland and has now also become an established event in China, South America and India, is specifically geared to the needs and challenges of the Indian market.

Featured will be the latest trends in glass processing and glass applications in architecture and fenestration technology. Special attention is attached here to questions of energy efficiency in solar and glass technologies as well as to renewable energies and their significance for the glass industry.

GPD India 2013 will focus on Energy Efficiency, Solar and Glass Technology in Warm Climates. “It is true that investment in the production of renewable energies is rising but in warmer regions such as India the necessity for insulating buildings has not received the attention it deserves” says Brown Onduso, of the GPD Organizing Committee, adding “Efficient energy management is subject to such temperature control through building insulation, if heating and/or air-conditioning costs are not to rise. The Conference focuses on precisely this topic since development in window and glass technology also allows for control of this kind in warmer climates.”

Over the past years the GPD Conference has become established as a communication platform for the worldwide glass industry, including India. High-calibre international speakers as well as specialists from architecture, design, research and the glass trade give sector experts a second-to-none opportunity for exchange and making new contacts while visiting the trade fair.

The Call for Papers for the coming GPD India Conference hopes for suggestions from professional circles on energy efficiency, solar and glass technology extending a cordial invitation to all speakers to submit their papers to the Congress.

GLASSPEX INDIA is part of the international product family of glasstec, the world’s largest trade fair for the glass sector. This also allows the Indian glass industry to benefit from the expert knowledge, competence and experience that Messe Düsseldorf was able to gain over decades. The event is organised by Messe Düsseldorf in cooperation with Messe Düsseldorf India and with the support of such renowned associations as AIGMF (All India Glass Manufacturers' Federation) and VDMA (German Machinery and Plant Manufacturers’ Association).
