Celebrating glass, achieving sustainability, inspiring transformation: this is the title of the new book by Alicia Durán and John M. Parker to describe the experience related to the International Year of Glass.

Alicia Durán and John M. Parker have authored a new book titled "Celebrating Glass, Achieving Sustainability, Inspiring Transformation," detailing their experience with the International Year of Glass. Spanning 370 pages, the publication explores the journey from the UN candidacy to the vibrant activities that shaped the year 2022. Through compelling texts and photographs, readers can revisit this historic year in the global glass industry, gaining insights that may inspire similar multidisciplinary projects in industrial, artistic, historical, and design sectors.

The BOOK is available for browsing in a high-resolution PDF format.

Within the first week of its release, the content was downloaded 5,000 times, underscoring the enduring impact of the International Year of Glass.

In December 2023, a debriefing session held at the United Nations headquarters in New York captured the essence of the event. The Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) encapsulated the day's proceedings and highlighted key projects that supported Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education and equality. A significant portion of the session focused on VITRUM, Milan, and Italian Glass Week, recognizing their pivotal role in organizing and promoting IYoG2022, heralding the dawn of the Glass Age.
