Date: 27 April 2010
The intention of the seminar, which was held at the National University of Singapore (NUS), was to tell local industry and academia about the latest developments in ALD and how Beneq is addressing the needs of this development. Topics such as photovoltaics, printed electronics and optical applications were of special interest.
Beneq Sales Manager for Asia, Mr Juha Tanskanen, was pleased with the encouraging atmosphere during the meet: "We have been positively surprised by the clearly increased interest in ALD, Beneq and the new offerings we have to present. We had more than 50 attendants from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand together, all keen on getting more familiar with the technology. What was especially pleasing was the activity of industrial players, which is by far our most important target group."
During the seminar, a demo was arranged for some of the participants on the premises of Nanyang Technological University, which Beneq is proud to have as a preferred customer and owner of a TFS 200 Thin Film System for ALD research. Dr Matti Putkonen, Beneq Senior Scientist, also present throughout the seminar, explains: "Having the opportunity to demonstrate a certain process or piece of equipment is much more tangible and efficient than even the best of seminar presentations. The group really got a hands-on feel of the equipment from the demo, and I am pleased we planned it in to the seminar program from the very start. The participants were happy to have seen our TFS 200 ALD research platform in real life, as it helped them understand how flexible and diverse a piece of equipment it is."
The Beneq seminar in Singapore was one of a series of seminars, where Beneq experts meet present and potential customers to talk about ALD, compare data, learn from each other, and strengthen the world-wide network of experts in ALD.
