The countdown to the inaugural FGIA Annual Conference has begun: This historic industry event is taking place February 10-13 in sunny Ft. Lauderdale, FL and FGIA staff is hard at work making sure it is the best event we can offer our members.

Join us at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort for a week of excellent speakers, seminars and work group sessions with a schedule made to fit each member company’s interests. Plus, enjoy the Annual Awards Banquet, during which members are recognized for their hard work within the organization.

The conference kicks off Monday morning with a series of optional events, ranging from the Rich and Diane Walker Cup golf outing at Jacaranda Golf Course, a scavenger hunt on golf carts and a tour of Q-Lab’s homestead facility. The latter includes a lunch and will wrap up about 90 minutes prior to that evening’s welcome reception on the Ocean View Terrace at the resort.

On Tuesday morning, be among the first to see the new FGIA logo and promotional video, which will be unveiled as part of the FGIA brand launch during the Opening General Session. The Annual General Membership meeting will include presentation of membership tenure awards to companies celebrating milestone years of membership. In addition to a variety of breakout meetings addressing specific work items, the Vinyl Institute will give an update that morning, followed by an address from keynote speaker Jim Hunter on “The Power of Servant Leadership.” Hunter will also lead a roundtable discussion based on his address from earlier in the day.

The Havana Nights Annual Awards Banquet will happen Tuesday night following an outdoor reception. The streamlined and shortened program features Distinguished Service Awards for various member segments along with fenestration- and glass-focused Outstanding Member Awards followed by dinner with an open bar.

Wednesday will start with an optional 5K walk/run before breakfast. Economics expert John Manzella will host two sessions of a roundtable discussion called, “Trade, Labor and Immigration.” Glass Safety Awareness speaker Mike Burk will present, following a meeting of the Sustainability Steering Committee. That night come out to the beach for a Havana Nights-themed party that includes a sandcastle building competition.

On Thursday, the final day of the conference, several committees will meet, including NAFS, the Marketing and Engagement Steering Committee, the Code Action Steering Committee and more. Those registered for the 2020 Southeast Region Winter Meeting are invited to a reception that night, followed by a full slate of regionally-specific speakers on Friday. View the schedule here.
