Asahi Glass Co said Thursday it has raised its stake in South Korean glass maker Hankuk Electric Glass Co to 42.76% from 30% through the purchase of a 12.76% stake from Nippon Electric Glass Co.
Japan's biggest glass maker said the move is designed to enhance its group business in cathode ray tubes (CRTs) for TV sets by including the South Korean CRT maker in its group earnings.
